Who can act on your request
- If you hold a Raad IoT login, we control that account and we can act on your request ourselves.
- If a company tracks your vehicle or uploaded your driver record, that company decides. We hold those records on its instructions. We will refer your request to it and notify you that we have done so.
- Some records stay because the law requires it. We will tell you what we kept and why.
- Closing an account does not wipe the trip, video, fuel and document records a customer holds about a vehicle.
01Who to ask first
Raad IoT has two roles. Which one applies decides who can delete your data. Section 2 of the privacy policy sets this out in full.
For login accounts we are the controller. We decide what we store about the account and we can delete it.
For fleet data a customer produces—including tracking, camera footage, fuel records and driver documents—that customer is the controller. It chose which vehicles carry Devices and which drivers are enrolled. We store and analyse that data on its instructions, so the customer decides an erasure request. Send us the request if you are unsure; we will refer it to the customer and notify you that we have done so. We will not erase Customer Data at the request of anyone other than the relevant customer unless the law requires us to do so.
02Send us your request
Fill in the three fields and your email app opens with the request already written. Read it, then send it. Nothing is submitted from this page and nothing is stored here.
Your email app should have opened
The request is written for you. Check it and send it. If nothing opened, copy the text below and send it to admin@raad-iot.com from any email account.
03Email us instead
The form only writes an email for you. You can skip it and write the email yourself. Send it to admin@raad-iot.com with the subject Data deletion request and include:
- your full name;
- the email address we should reply to;
- the company or fleet operator you are connected to, or "not known".
That is all we need to start. We will come back to you if we need more to find your records.
04What happens next
We will acknowledge the request, take reasonable steps to verify your identity, then either act on it or direct it to the customer organisation that controls the relevant records. We may ask for only the additional information reasonably necessary to verify identity; please do not send a passport, driving licence or other identity document unless we ask for it.
For requests covered by UK or EU data-protection law, we respond within one calendar month of receipt. If a request is complex or numerous, we may extend the response period by up to a further two months and will tell you within the initial month why. For an erasure request governed by Kenya's Data Protection (General) Regulations, we respond within 14 days. Other laws may set a different period.
When an erasure request is accepted, we delete the relevant personal data from active systems. A protected residual copy may remain in backups until it is overwritten through the ordinary backup-rotation process; it is not restored for routine use and remains protected. We will explain the position in our response where it applies.
Erasure is not absolute. We may retain information where necessary to comply with a legal obligation, establish, exercise or defend legal claims, protect another person's rights, or where another lawful exception applies. If we cannot comply, we will explain the reason and the available complaint route unless the law prevents us from doing so.
05If you are not happy with the answer
Tell us first and give us a chance to fix it. If you remain dissatisfied, you may complain to the Information Commissioner's Office in the UK, the competent supervisory authority in your EU country, or the Office of the Data Protection Commissioner in Kenya, as applicable. You do not need a lawyer to make a complaint.
